Bay Adventures was founded by Dr Api, a tourism resilience academic and sustainable development researcher and advocate turned practitioner. With a passion for adventure and the sustainable development of his home province of Caáudrove, Api has taken a break from academia to set up a regenerative tourism model that can operationalize tourism resilience for indigenous communities in Fiji . He and his team are dedicated to providing visitors with the opportunity to experience the breathtaking natural wonders of Taveuni Island while promoting conservation, sustainability and resilience.

Mr Semi Niu – A Pillar of Soqulu, A Guiding Light for Bay Adventures
In Fijian culture, we look to our elders for blessings, wisdom and guidance. Mr Semi Niu, who has lived and worked in Soqulu Estate for over 50 years, embodies these values.
A respected stalwart of the Soqulu community and a key member of the Bay Adventures team, Mr Semi brings invaluable experience, leadership and a deep connection to the land. His wisdom keeps our boys grounded, reminding us that our work is not just about maintaining the estate, but about honouring our vanua, respecting our elders and building a better future.

Roadside Crew
Roadside Maintenence - Solesolevaki sa itakele ni duavata
We have a crew of seven youths employed full-time on a project with the Fiji Roads Authority to maintain the roadsides on Soqulu Estate, covering a total of 23 kilometres of roads each month. This gives our staff a steady income twice a month while they tend their own farms. Our philosophy is woven into the idea that we all must rise together - we are living this idea and we need your support to make this dream work!

As experienced Farm Managers, Kuku Roni, Maturino, & Tu 'Oli, TJ, Mobs (etc.) and Naivalu (Runner) are favourites among our clients. No matter the requirements, weather, or terrain, they handle farm management operations and organise trekking adventures inland efficiently and safely.
